Valley Garage Doors began with a generous and unique guy named Homer Huff. A Shenandoah Valley local, Homer developed his business here for over thirty years under the name of Verona Service Company.
In the mid 2000’s Homer hired a part-time employee who began to play a much larger role as Homer transitioned towards retirement. When the transition was completed, Valley Garage Doors was formed in February, 2009 by the new owner, Sam Hickin.
Sam is a Virginia native who attended high school in Staunton and received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from James Madison University. Sam owns and operates the business, drawing on his finance background and over 10 years of experience in the garage door industry. Sam continues to work with the original members of Verona Service Company with their decades of experience and others who have been involved with the business.
Today, Valley Garage Doors continues to serve the local community not only through the garage door business but also through its support of community events, non-profits, and other local businesses. We’re very proud to be a part of this community and enjoy its rich history, beautiful scenery and vibrant social life.

Your New Door in Five Easy Steps
SITE VISIT
We meet with clients to examine the space, take measurements and provide our recommendations based on what you are looking for. Valley Garage Doors will also review manufacture brochures to ensure that you’ll be thrilled with the final result.

ESTIMATE REVIEW
Valley Garage Doors will send you a detailed proposal covering your entire project. We will make sure all of the specifics are correct and that you will be getting exactly what you want. If everything is correct you will simply approve the estimate. (If you have questions or want to make changes, simply let us know.)

DEPOSIT
Once the estimate is approved Valley Garage Doors will send an invoice for a 50% prepayment for you to submit. After Valley Garage Doors receives your deposit, we will order your new doors and place your project on our production schedule.

SCHEDULING
Turn around times on doors vary depending on manufacturers inventory and the door that you choose, but generally speaking we will have the doors to our warehouse in 2-3 weeks from the time the order is placed. As soon as your new doors arrive in our warehouse we will reach out to you to schedule an installation date.

INSTALLATION
On the scheduled day we will install the doors and complete the project. Upon completion, we will review your new doors and all the operational aspects, so you will know how to use the equipment and be completely comfortable with the products. Upon your final inspection and approval, we will collect the remaining balance due.
